If you’re like most people, you were more than ready to turn the page on 2020 and move into 2021.
Let’s take a moment to focus on our dimension of the health care industry and see what 2021 has to offer for physician and provider recruitment.
Career fairs
One of the many outcomes of the travel challenges of the past year was PracticeLink’s successful offering of virtual career fairs for physicians. We plan to host even more during the coming year.
Virtual career fairs offer you the opportunity to connect with qualified professionals and establish a rapport that might very well lead to a placement on your health care team.
When attending an online career fair, set up your booth with interesting graphics to catch candidates’ eyes as they browse employers. Create a PDF that includes all your specialties and openings, and post it on your booth. Also include information about your ability to support visa-holding candidates. This will save both your and an interested candidate’s time, and ensure you’re only speaking with candidates you could potentially hire.
Prepare an "elevator speech" with the key points of your open positions: the type of practice, physical location, and the best reason to join your organization. Don’t hesitate to converse simultaneously with several candidates. This keeps the line of candidates moving and your pipeline full.
Take specific notes so you know who your key candidates are and how you intend to follow up. After the virtual career event, PracticeLink will provide you with a list of candidate leads with whom you can connect further.
Yes, virtual career fairs have become more common during the past nine months than they had been previously. We are available to help you and your colleagues navigate virtual career fairs and ensure they are successful experiences.
Specialty association conferences
Every specialty association also experienced the changing landscape of 2020, especially as it affected their annual conferences. In some cases, the annual meeting was moved to a virtual platform. Others developed into a hybrid event, and some were completely canceled.
We understand how critically essential leads from these events are to you and your colleagues. Know that PracticeLink will be monitoring the status of 2021 specialty association conferences. Most of the specialty conferences are scheduled to be held virtually at least through the first half of the year. It is anticipated that at some point, potentially mid-2021, there may be a shift to some in-person events.
Recruiter association meetings
The PracticeLink team has surely missed seeing each of you at the annual meetings of recruiter associations! We look forward to reconnecting in person during 2021 depending on your group’s plans.
As a Corporate Sponsor of AAPPR , we’re also looking forward to attending the 2021 AAPPR Virtual Annual Conference April 26-27.
We are very much looking forward to seeing you at events as the opportunity becomes available. We’ll keep you posted as our plans begin to incorporate travel and in-person events. Until then, please stay safe, be well and continue your critical roles in your organizations as you recruit, hire, heal.
